Aquatic plants are wery important for biological balance of any aquarium, because in the daytime they produce oxygen required by fishes and consume peroxide. Yes, it is possible to keep aquarium fishes without plants or use some artificial plants, but then the tank is never so amazing, maybe with the exception of tanks with African cichlids. The most beautiful type of aquarium with plants is Dutch aquarium and the best-known "maker" of planted aquariums is Takashi Amano.

Cultivation is very difficult and who wants to be successful grower, must build up special environmental conditions in his tank. The most important is lightning, and very significant are fertilizer application and addition of peroxide. Don´t forget for accurate choice of plants with similar requirements and avoid of marsh plants (in aquarium die after few weeks).
